According to the brand, U.S. Olympics gold medalists Lindsey Vonn and Hannah Kearney, as well as America’s six female state Governors, were the first to receive the new Hanae Mori limited edition fragrance, fittingly called No. 1 ($95).  The contemporary perfume, developed in France, launches the brand’s new eaux de collection series, which draws upon sun and wind as energy and creative sources for the decade ahead.  Approximately 30% of the power needed to create No. 1 was produced from these renewable resources.  In return, a portion of proceeds from U.S. sales of No. 1 will benefit Clean Air/Cool Planet, which works to solve global warming. With No. 1, Hanae Mori Parfums also debuts new packaging, with a vibrant No. 1 emblem that resembles a slash of Japanese ink upon rice paper, evoking the Japanese roots of the brand named for Madame Hanae Mori, the first female fashion designer from Japan to conquer the runways of Paris and New York. The bottle was manufactured by Pochet.
